****** Florist not good value
Last month we bought two bouquets from ****** Florist as part of our article about Online florists, paying $80 for each bouquet (including delivery).
We were disappointed with the overall quality of the bouquet prepared in Auckland by ******. We said, "Not enough flowers. Visually disappointing. Design bore no relationship with web photo."
The other was prepared in Wellington by ******* Florist. We mainly criticised it for not looking like the web photo bouquet we had asked for.
Since then we've spoken to ******* and ******* Florist. They were confused and angry. Neither had ever heard of ****** Florist. They also told us they had received orders for bouquets worth $49, and they had no idea about the "web photo" we judged their work against. Both florists were clear that they would have given much greater value if the order had been for the full $80.
****** Florist is a website owned by someone in Christchurch. He runs several web-based businesses.
We asked ****** about our order. He referred us to ***** Florist, the Christchurch florist that handles his orders. A spokeswoman for ***** Florist told us the order was received by ****** Florist, which took a cut of our money and forwarded the order to ******. ***** then took another cut and forwarded the orders through Teleflora and Interflora to ** and ***** Florist for preparation and delivery.
We ordered $80 bouquets from ******, but the orders passed to the local florists were just for $49 bouquets plus delivery costs. ****** Florist also failed to give detailed instructions.
****** Florist's website doesn't mention Teleflora or Interflora. So we were surprised that they were in the supply chain, when ****** could have passed our order to a local florist to complete.
